Today we proudly serve as charitable consultants within the gaming space, helping nonprofit organizations and communities reach their potential by 'advancing the world through gaming, education, and charity.'
Can you share one or two stories of individuals whose lives have been changed because of your organization?
Prior to filing in Florida, in 2018 some of our members and other volunteers who came forward, decided to collaborate with a NW FL nonprofit, HOPEPanhandle.
We decided to focus on work-orders that this nonprofit and he community at large was unable to handle. The first major order we did had a family whose child who was in spectrum. Upon learning that we were ‘gamers’, he made friends with our staff and volunteer team of 'gamers'. It was our very identity of being 'gamers' that brought us all together. Unbeknownst to our crew - it had been over a decade since their son had wanted to hang out with strangers. Our gaming alignment meant more then just disaster outreach; it was a bridge to bring others together. It was an identity. This event inspired both his family and us. We realized at that moment how very important gaming was.
A bridge to UKNIGHT others in community, gain experience points (XP) to 'level-up' and help build a better tomorrow.
Our mission was solidified after that event. We haven’t looked back since.
What are your organizations' goals this year?
This year we are looking forward to world-wide publication, release of a world-wide Cyber Safety in Gaming for Parents Program by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, the prototype transformation of a nationally capable mobile command and stream center with Helping His Hands, and working closely with partners, including the Varsity Esports Foundation, to help leaders in Northwest Florida create diverse, scalable models to bring real value to their communities through gaming, education, and charity.
Why are your goals important?
If we succeed at our mission; ‘Advancing the world through gaming, education, and charity’, then families will be more closely connected, stronger, and more resilient. Our goals are important because we aim to help provide organizations, leaders and their communities the tools and resources needed to build stronger families and vibrant communities in the 21st century.
Play of all forms and types, regardless of the medium, has been proven to help improve morale, employment rates and jobs, facilitate growth, and facilitate ingenuity and innovation in daily life. We can build a stronger and better tomorrow. While we will never live a perfect life - we believe we can always strive to live a better life together.
What would happen if your organization was not able to accomplish its goals?
If our organization, or another like it, was unable to accomplish its mission communities would not have access to or the ability to maximize social impact, and potentially miss vital cross-generational support and find resources needed to prepare them and us for our future.
Leaders of communities and organizations, as well as families, would receive less support and fewer resources to help navigate the rapidly advancing information age.
How much money do you need from donors to accomplish your goals?
With $10,000, combined with our 100% volunteer staff, we could cover all insurance, legal, marketing, and operational costs for one year and have the ability make lasting, far reaching national and global-level impacts. We have the network, credibility, and infrastructure required to succeed at scale. Our business model as a consultant enables us to operate with minimal costs and maximum impact, serving as a potential force multiplier for leaders, organizations and communities.
What about Diversity and Inclusion?
